AncientFutureFaith exists to introduce a group of ancient Christian leaders, known as the Church Fathers (and Mothers) to a wider audience and provide resources to help one engage with their lives and their writings. The aims are to educate and inspire, but also to help forge and shape a more vibrant, informed faith for those who aspire to follow Jesus Christ authentically today.

Note that the list of leaders included on this site is not exhaustive, but rather has been carefully selected to introduce the most prominent and influential ones to the largely uninformed reader.

If, like myself at one stage, you feel that you are more or less ignorant of the lives, writings and legacy of these Christian leaders – who basically lived between the years AD 100-500 – then you are invited here to join others on this journey and rediscover these people for yourself.

As you embark on this journey, we want to, as it were, pull you back and help you rediscover what others are now calling the Great Tradition hyperlink); we also want to prompt you to go deeper in your faith and help you engage with life-giving Theology; and finally we want to push you out in Mission and help you, and whatever church you are part of, to engage meaningfully with the culture you find yourself in, and hopefully find ways of re-introducing the good news of the message of Jesus Christ and his kingdom to a fractured, lost and needy world.
